MILISI KECOA, a hardcore punk band formed in Bandung, Indonesia in 2009.
In english, Milisi Kecoa can be translated literally as "Cockroach Militia". Why is that? Because cockroach is an interesting insect that have a lot similarity with a global punk community. Like a global punk community, cockroach can be found everywhere in t...his world. They are everywhere and never be extinct. Cockroach never be domesticated unlike dog or cat. They have no human-master and never play tricks with human. They also become a real psychological threat for many people, like a global punk community. Can you stay calm if a bunch of cockroaches come to your house in a fantastic number? Stomp your feet on one of us, and the rest of the militia will freak you out. "Militia" and "military" isnt the same word. Militia refers to a bunch of people (or cockroach!) that organised and armed themself spontaneously, with a main purpose to defend their life (family, land, source, etc), while military refers to a group of well-trained people, organised but the state to defend state's interests. Military based its action on the leader's command, but militia based its action on solidarity. So thats the story behind the band's name.
And yes, our lyrics and its explanation is written in Indonesian. Its not because we love that language, but our english sucks. English isnt our main language, not even the second language, thats why we're lack of english vocabulary and failed to expressed what we feel into english lyrics because of that. The only reason to write the lyrics in Indonesian is to avoid misunderstanding and wrong interpretation on our lyrics.
But surely, we dont care our poor english if its for the sake of communication. We still love to keep in touch with people from all over the globe, because we do believe that human relationship cant be separated by languange, regions and border. Lets prove it.
We're not a PC band. We're just pissed. We're interest in making friend with everybody and do projects with other people/band/collective.
